Dunking with Warners!

Dunking with Warners!
By El Sid
Len Blavatnik’s Access Industries is the owner of Warner Music.

Warner Music are seriously in the running for picking up EMI, which is currently for sale. Accordingly, the old CEO of Warner Music, Edgar Bronfman Jnr. (who prepped the Warner deal to Blavatnik) has been moved to become Chairman of Warner's board and the new CEO is one Stephen Cooper, who has a reputation as a heavy weight turn around specialist.

Bronfman wrote in an inter-office memo that he is happy to draw the short straw and step down from the day to day running of Warner. He said it will give him more time pursue his “collaborative dance project with M.I.A."  WTF – she had such a promising career too.

The incoming Mr Cooper is a busy dude who comes with big credentials. He has been involved in some of the most high-profile turnaround tasks of the past decade, including the scandal-ridden Enron Corp. And Krispy Kreme Donuts.

Nothing too musical in his CV then, but since when did that matter in the last 10 years?
