Dave Dobbyn: From The Hinter To The Heartland

27th May 2005

Dave Dobbyn is currently filming an ‘Intrepid Journey’ in Morocco but his future travel plans lie a little closer to home.

On June 22nd he goes off the beaten track, by-passing the familiar concert circuit for a 16-date tour that includes Kihi Kihi, Kati Kati and Akaroa.

"Many of these towns I have never visited let alone played in" says Dobbyn. "I like that grass-roots thing, the intimacy, the provincial town feel. You’ve got your feet on the ground but you are soaring. It’s really exciting".

Peter Campbell from Eccles Ent. said "Dave’s foray into NZ’s heartland will be continued later in the year – there are just so many places he would like to visit."

The ‘Available Light’ tour follows a June 13 album release of the same title. The first single Welcome Home is on a steady climb up the airplay and singles charts.
