Eight Sleeps To Go Before Kiwi Acts Take Over Austin

The clock is well and truly ticking for the NZ contingent heading to this year’s South By Southwest music conference in Austin, Texas. Touching down over the next week and preparing to blow the assembled international music attendees away are Pluto, The Have, The Coolies, The Mint Chicks, and Jakob.

The NZ presence for the week kicks off on Wednesday March 16th, when Austin’s Brush Square Park plays host to the NZ Music Function, an event that provides an early opportunity for NZ bands to strut their stuff in front of the invitees.

From there the official SXSW Music programme commences, with the NZMIC manning a stand at the Trade Show, and the bands slotting into a schedule that sees some 1100 acts perform over a four day period.

C4 are also sending a television crew over to track the fortunes of the New Zealand contingent, including new C4 presenter Jane Yee.
