Salmonella Dub Album Goes Double Platinum
26th December 2004
Salmonella Dub’s latest album 'One Drop East' has just achieved double platinum sales status (30,000 albums).
'One Drop East' was released in August 2003 and went straight to Number One in the NZ Music Charts. This achievement caps off a busy year for the band, who have just completed an extensive international touring schedule before returning to NZ for a series of shows over summer.
They have also just released a 9-track mini album in time for summer. 'Mercy - th' One Drop E Remixes & Out Takes' features remixes of tracks from 'One Drop East' - Ez On by Concord Dawn, Nu Steppa by DJ Digital & Nat Clarxon, Dancehall Girl by Jagwah and the very summery reworking of Longtime by the Sativa Records crew. These tracks, plus out takes, including the Mercy remixes from Mu of Fat Freddy's Drop and Mad Professor are available both with 'One Drop East' as a double album or as a stand alone release.
Salmonella Dub are to perform at the Auckland Town Hall next Wednesday 29 December with local drum ‘n’ bass legends Concord Dawn, DJ Digital from the UK, plus reggae favourites Cornerstone Roots and DJ Stinky Jim. Tickets are available now from Ticketek and Real Groovy.
