IN STORES NOW!
Following an overall successful tour promoting the 'Stand By' EP, and a less happy brush with the law for frontman Martin Phillipps, The Chills are looking forward to their 25th anniversary in 2005.
In his online newsletter, Phillipps reports that there is a new album in the pipeline which will be completed and released later in 2005, with a working title of ‘Silver Bullets’.
The album will herald some new approaches for The Chills, with recordings of natural and automated sounds being worked into the songs, which will mean changes in the band's live presentation and will feature the use of sequencers and other musical tools previously not explored by The Chills.
2005 will also mark twenty-five years of Chills history and there are a number of special projects planned, many of which are under wraps.
Apart from the main album ‘Silver Bullets’ (scheduled for mid/late 2005), there is a plan to tour the United States and Europe somewhere around the middle of the year, along with a couple of quick sojourns to Australia.
There is also a plan to release a collection of all the Chills video clips on DVD.
