Tech giants summoned to Australian court
12th February 2013
Technology giants Apple, Adobe and Microsoft have been summoned by the Australian parliament to explain why prices at iTunes and other digital products are so expensive down under.
Following an inquiry into high digital prices last July, the three companies have been formally summoned to appear before Australia’s Federal Parliamentary Committee on March 22.
The news follows an announcement by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) last week that the value of the Australian recorded music industry rose 4% to $398.1m in 2012 - the first upwards trend the industry has experienced since 2009.
