Kimbra wins big at the Grammys

Local singing sensation Kimbra and Australian songwriter Gotye have taken home two gongs at the 55th annual Grammy Awards for the duet Somebody That I Used To Know.

The duo nabbed awards for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, beating out a strong list of contenders including: Florence and the Machine, Fun, LMFAO and Maroon 5 - and Record of the Year, holding off musical heavyweights The Black Keys, Kelly Clarkson, Frank Ocean, Fun, and Taylor Swift to take home the trophy.

Fellow Kiwi and Flight of the Conchords star Bret McKenzie missed out on the award for Best Song Written For Visual Media.
