New punk rock venue to open in Auckland

A venue modeled on one of New York City’s most celebrated punk rock establishments will open in Auckland this month.

The Ding Dong Lounge first opened on the upper west side of Manhattan in 2001 before making its mark on Melbourne in 2003. Former Ding Dong DJ Damon Kenzo and Mat Jorgensen of Forte Bar have been given the green light to open the Auckland branch at 26 Wyndham St - formerly Crow Bar.

The venue will officially open on January 26 with DJ Mikey Havoc and a live performance from Auckland trio Rackets.
