Arts projects ranging from Pacific musical theatre to multi-media arts, have gained more than $5 million in funding through Creative New Zealand’s Toi Uru Kahikatea (Arts Development Investment) programme.

Auckland’s Audio Foundation will receive $250K over the next two years towards the Altmusic programme, an events programme of two shows per month and the Gallery Programme of 12 shows per year; the Centre for New Zealand Music (SOUNZ) will receive $420K towards maintaining and developing a collection of NZ music and implementing a programme of activities; Tihi Limited will receive 236K towards an annual programme of wānanga, seminars and masterclasses and an annual programme showcasing Māori performances and music; Strike Percussion $110K for the rehearsal and production of an full-length show and the World of Music, Art and Dance festival (WOMAD) will receive 70K towards presenting Te Paepae, Māori music, visual arts and dance programme at the WOMAD festivals in 2013 and 2014.

It provides funding to established New Zealand arts practitioners, groups and arts organisations for one to three years.
