25th July 2012
The nation’s 8,000+ APRA members have until this Sunday to have their say in determining the five finalists and overall winner for the 2012 Silver Scroll award. The long list, made up of 20 songs from the past year, was compiled by an anonymous jury of APRA Members and can be listened to over at http://www.apra-amcos.co.nz/
The top five finalists will be revealed in the coming weeks before the winner is announced at Auckland’s Town Hall on Thursday 13 September. Alongside the APRA Silver Scroll Award, presentations include the APRA Maioha Award and the SOUNZ Contemporary Award, recognising outstanding compositions in both Maori and Classical music, nods to the Most Performed Works here and overseas, and another surprise induction to the New Zealand Music Hall Of Fame.
