Local soul musician selected for Red Bull Music Academy

Wellington soul musician Louis Baker has been invited to attend the 2012 Red Bull Music Academy held in New York from September 30 to November 2.

Baker is one of 62 successful applicants, representing 29 countries, to be accepted for the international music workshop and will spend two fortnight-long terms in the Big Apple soaking up knowledge from musical luminaries, working in studio and performing in the city’s bars and clubs. 

Other Kiwi musicians who have previously attended the academy include: Grayson Gilmour, Alistair Deverick, Coco Solid, Issac Aesili and Julian Dyne.
