International delegates named for Sounds Aotearoa 2012

A line-up of big hitting world music and festival professionals from international shores will land in New Plymouth for next month's Sounds Aotearoa music industry expo. The two-day event precedes the Womad NZ festival and is is designed to enrich the NZ music industry and expose local music to the global market. 
 

Returning to Sounds Aotearoa this year is Glastonbury programmer Malcolm Haynes with the festival’s World Music Stage director, Derek Dodd, as well as - Vicki Gordon of independent artist management and marketing company VGM Media (Australia) and Sam Cook from Dreaming Festival (Australia). 

 

The line-up of presenters also includes: Paula Henderson and Chris Smith of Womad International, Andrew Messingham from the Vision, Sound & Music Event (UK), Min Kim from Ulsan World Music Festival (Korea), Simon Raynor (AWME Melbourne), Fruszina Szep (Sziget Festival, Hungary), Jordan Verzaar (Top Shelf Productions, Australia), Belinda Jones (Creative New Zealand), David McLaughlin (McLaughlin Law) and Jeffery Stothers (Southbound Music Distribution). 

 

Sounds Aotearoa will take place from March 14 – 15 2012 at TSB Showplace in New Plymouth.
