2010 APRA Silver Scroll Awards Top 20

The shortlist for the prestigious 2010 APRA Silver Scroll Awards has been announced with four acts receiving two nominations each. The top 20 songs were chosen by an anonymous panel of APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) reps who decided that The Phoenix Foundation, The Naked and Famous, Don McGlashan and Shayne Carter should each get two songs on the list. It is now down to the 7000+ NZ APRA members to cull that list down to a top five and ultimately identify the 2010 winner. From July 2, the Top 20 songs will be available for your listening pleasure, along with lyrics at www.apra.co.nz

The top finalists will be announced on August 2 and the APRA Silver Scroll Award will be presented at a ceremony on September 8 (this year back in the Auckland Town Hall) - alongside the APRA Maioha Award and the SOUNZ Contemporary Award recognising outstanding compositions in Maori and Classical music respectively; the Most Performed Works here and overseas - and another induction to the NZ Music Hall Of Fame.
