New Pitch Black Album Out This Week

5th October 2004

Michael Hodgson and Paddy Free of Pitch Black are proud to announce the birth of their third child, 'Ape to Angel', a healthy album weighing in at approximately 60 minutes of dub beats. The youngest in a family of three albums, following in the footsteps of 'Future Proof', released 1998 and 'Electronomicon' in 2000, not to mention its ep cousins 'electric earth and other elements' and 'flex'.

Following the release of 'Ape to Angel', Pitch Black will be heading on a tour planned to cover New Zealand, UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Playing live has always been one of the things that has set Pitch Black apart from most other electronic acts, and pretty much as soon as the ink was dry on the album they started to pull it apart to create the basis for the live show. Live video is a key to their performance. The collaboration is being extended to include contributions from top kiwi Vjs and video artists including Bruce Ferguson, James Hutchinson and Matt Dillon.

Starting in Wellington on the 15th October and traveling around NZ till the 23rd October, the boys will be stepping out with their multi-media show of integrated sound and visuals. Then it's overseas again, with all the excess baggage to take the live show to the continental dub freaks.
