NZ Battle of the Bands National Final Winner

Nine acts from around New Zealand battled it out on Friday 1st October to be the NZ winner of the World Battle of the Bands.

The overall title of New Zealand winner was taken out by Hamilton based 4-piece alterna-metal act Chuganaut. Runner up were space-rock West Auckland finalists Exiter, and 2nd Runner up went to Canterbury pop/rockers, Ample Cleavage.

Awards on the night were also given to:

Best Guitarist: Leah Hinton (El Schlong)

Best Bassist: Tobias Wright (The Aviators)

Best Drummer: Adam (Sub-Human)

Best Vocalist: Rich Manic (Running-House)

Best Instrumentalist: Jon Morris (Exiter)

Best Songwriting: Bored Gordon

Most Passionate Performer: Steve Gibb (These Four Walls)

Chuganaut are now preparing for the World Battle of the Bands finals in Auckland on Friday Nov 26th at the Studio, where the winners from Hong Kong, Los Angeles, and Australia will go head to head to decide who will reign as World Battle of the Bands Champion.
