APRA Silver Scroll Awards 2009: The Top 20 New Zealand Songs Of The Year

The nominees for the 2009 APRA Silver Scroll Awards have been announced. The awards, presented since 1965, are to be held in Christchurch for the first time in the awards history. The invite only event will be held on Thursday 17 September in the Christchurch Town Hall.
The top 20 songs were chosen by an anonymous jury of APRA (Australasian Performing Right Association) and it is now down to the 7,000+ NZ APRA Members to elect the 2009 APRA Silver Scroll winner.

The APRA Silver Scroll Award will be presented alongside the APRA Maioha Award and the SOUNZ Contemporary Award recognising outstanding compositions in both Maori and Classical music; nods to the Most Performed Works here and overseas; and an induction to the New Zealand Music Hall Of Fame. www.apra.co.nz.
