Shihad are Back

20th September 2004

After changing their name to sell records in the American market, Shihad have decided Pacifier isn't for them and have returned to the name we all know and love.

On their website www.shihad.com the band said they decided on the change after being locked away for the last 12 months writing music in Melbourne, Wellington and in the Central North Island. During this time they said they reconnected with what they love to do.

"The writing process has brought us closer as a band than we have been for several years, and that being the case we are going to continue as we began - under the name Shihad," the website reports.

Shihad say that while they believed in changing their name and the reasons for doing it, they admit now they were wrong.

On Monday the 20th September the band  left the southern hemisphere to record their sixth album in Vancouver with Garth Richardson. They are looking forward to returning to New Zealand in November.
