Win Big Day Out Tickets Here!

6th December 2007
That's right folks, we have two Big Day Out Tickets to give away to our faithful website readers. All the event information you need is below, and as you can see it's going to be an all-round classic. There's one more lineup announcement to go, and what we'd like you to do to go in the draw is let us know which local band you'd like to see in the next lineup and why you think they deserve to be there. We'll randomly draw two winners from the pile. Send your answer, along with your name, address and phone number, to web@nzmusician.co.nz by midday Tuesday December 11.

Another impressive wave of local talent, coupled with the announcement of just over a dozen offshore acts, gives you absolutely no reason to hold off purchasing your BDO 2008 ticket. The kiwi contingent this time round:

Scribe, the undisputed heavyweight of New Zealand hip-hop, with a fresh 'Rhymebook' album and a set that is sure to include new and old favourites…

Supergroove, who return to the Big Day Out stage some ten years after their last appearance…

The Bleeders, having just unleashed their quick-fire second album, will bring bucketloads of their raw honest rock…

Tiki Taane, who after a decade with Salmonella Dub is now forging his own career - and with the album 'Past, Present, Future' has delivered one of his finest moments…

Liam Finn, bNet fave and picked by Rolling Stone USA as one of ten new artists to watch out for…

Op Shop, ever popular, will bring their warm and powerful stage presence and made-for-stadium anthems to a venue ready-made for them…

Pluto, with a powerful new album 'Sunken Water', who will no doubt bring their bag of hits and wonderful live show…

DIE! DIE! DIE!, one of the more hypnotisingly energetic bands on the planet…

Havoc, the Havo, the fastest mouth on the breakfast airwaves and a man who knows a good tune or two, will be back at the Big Day Out this year spinning his favourite discs and promising to knock the Boiler Room temperature up a few notches…

Collapsing Cities, recipients of the Breakthrough Artist Of The Year award at the bNets, and authors of tasty student radio favourites…

Dam Native, with a scorching new live band and a new album in the pipeline…

The Checks, a household name both here and overseas, with live energy to burn and youth on their side…

The above bands join overseas acts Spoon, Unkle (live), Carl Cox, Krafty Kuts , Anti-Flag, The Nightwatchman ( Tom Morello acoustic), Dr Octagon & Kutmaster Kurt, Kate Nash, Enter Shikari, Operator Please, Shy Child, Brand New and Aceyalone to form a mighty lineup, especially when added to the names on the original announcement.

A third and final lineup announcement will be made on Wednesday December 12.
