Crowded House announce NZ shows; Supergroove reform to support them

26th June 2007
The Frontier Touring Company has announced the news that Crowded House fans across New Zealand have been waiting for….  Crowded House are coming home!

After months of tantalising us with news of US and UK dates, and an appearance on Live Earth, Neil Finn, Nick Seymour, Mark Hart and new recruit Matt Sherrod have announced a major arena headline tour of our shores for October/ November.

Dates are confirmed for Auckland, Wellington and Wellington, ensuring that all Crowded House fans are well catered for.

With Crowded House's much anticipated new single Don't Stop Now on the air waves and their album 'Time On Earth' (EMI) due out on July 2 in New Zealand, fans will have a new selection of songs to enjoy before the band hits the stage late this year.  Their tour promises new hits plus the songs that have made Crowded House a household name.

With a career that spanned more than a decade the first time around, there is no shortage of back catalogue for the band to choose from.  Don't Dream It's Over, Something So Strong, Better Be Home Soon and Weather With You are just a few of the hits that have become a part of New Zealand's cultural  landscape.

In further good news, reforming New Zealand band Supergroove will support Crowded House.  The band is looking forward to getting back on-stage:

"The Crowded House tour is a welcome opportunity for us to catch up and spend time together as a band. At this point we're taking things very slowly but may consider future plans at a later date. We would like to thank the many people who supported us in the past, and who expressed a desire to see us reform during the intervening years. We look forward to blasting the cobwebs off the Supergroove crypt and hope the spectacle will be enjoyed by all. It lives..."

Popular local five-piece Pluto will open the shows.  With a new album in-stores now and a true rock 'n' roll sound, this quintet will be the perfect opener for the tour.

Tickets to Crowded House's 'Time On Earth' tour are on sale from Friday 6 July.
