The APRA Silver Scroll Awards 2007 - Call for Entries.

19th June 2007
Entry is now open for the APRA Silver Scroll Award, APRA Maioha Award and SOUNZ Contemporary Award, recognising creative excellence in popular music, contemporary Maori music and contemporary Classical music, respectively.

Entry is open to APRA members only. Further criteria and the entry form can be found in the latest edition of APRAP or downloaded via this link: www.apra.co.nz

Entries must be received by 5pm, Monday 2 July. Finalists will be announced 20 August. The awards will be held at the Auckland Town Hall 18 September 2007.

Change in Silver Scroll Judging process

Historically the Silver Scroll has been judged by a panel of anonymous writers and industry experts who have studiously listened to hundreds of songs, dutifully considered lyrics and made their call on the song of the year.

This year we want to involve all APRA members, up and down the country, in the judging process. To do this we will still convene the panel of judges but only to narrow the songs entered down to a preliminary finalist list of 20. These songs will then be available for APRA members to log on and listen, read the lyrics and vote. You vote, the top 5 get performed on the night of the Awards and the winner for 2007, as decided by you, will be announced.

The judging criteria and process for both the APRA Maioha and SOUNZ Contemporary Awards remain the same with genre specific industry experts on each judging panel. The Most Performed Works Awards are determined by APRA log reports.
