IN STORES NOW!
After 3 years of living on opposite sides of the planet, the Pitch Black boys have been holed up in a variety of studios in the Coromandel, Piha, Wellington and central Auckland working on their next album, which is due for release on Kog via Universal in late September.
Since the release of 'Electronomicon' in 2000 and its follow-up remix album, Pitch Black have been touring the UK and all over Europe each northern summer, with occasional jaunts home to play festivals and shows in NZ and Australia. Their travels have inspired many of the tracks on the new album.
As well as their musical OE, the last few years have seen Paddy Free working as producer on two Salmonella Dub albums and Michael Hodgson creating soundscapes for the web and games. Last year saw the limited release of the 'Flex' ep, which showcased a couple of the tracks from the new album.
Live shows have always been important to Pitch Black, and this year sees a two-month tour planned to cover New Zealand, UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Starting in Wellington on the 15th October and traveling around NZ till the 23rd the boys will be displaying their multi-media show of integrated sound and visuals, then it’s overseas again with all the excess baggage to take the live show to the continental dub freaks.
