New Project for Red Rocks Records

The recent Creative NZ funding round made a grant towards the production of an album by Wellington-based pedal steel guitarist Winnie Winston. The album will be co-produced by Nick Bollinger (of Windy City Strugglers) and David Long (ex-Mutton Birds) and will feature the American-born steel hero in a variety of settings, with a distinctly New Zealand flavour. The album will be released on Wellington record label Red Rocks records, hopefully before the end of 2004.

In addition, the Windy City Strugglers received a contribution from Creative NZ towards a proposed tour of Europe. The tour is planned for early 2005 and will capitalise on the European release of their latest album, 'Kingfisher'.
