IN STORES THIS WEEK!
The first concert in the Auckland Philharmonia’s 2004 Telecom Pops series features a unique fusion – New Zealand band Goldenhorse takes the stage with the Auckland Philharmonia.
New works have been arranged specially for this concert by Goldenhorse’s Geoff Maddock and Kirsten Morelle. Horns will help to stomp out Baby’s Been Bad, and a harp and piano will bring up their latest single, Northern Lights. Other tracks from Goldenhorse’s album 'Riverhead', such as Maybe Tomorrow and Golden Dawn will have their existing arrangements exploded to meet the extra instrumentation. And expect the songs Riverhead, Spice Islands and Dark Forest to unleash the full force of the accompanying symphony orchestra.
Saturday 31 July – 8pm, Aotea Centre
Adult tickets from $30; concessions available (service fees may apply). Phone the Ticketek Orchestra Hotline on 307 5139.
Telecom Pops 2004 is sponsored by Telecom New Zealand with support from More FM. The Auckland Philharmonia receives major funding from Creative New Zealand and a major grant from Auckland City.
