Pete Fountain Scores 10CC Support

15th June 2006

Hamilton musician Pete Fountain is announced as the nationwide support act for classic UK rock band 10CC

During the nine city tour, 10CC will be performing all their classic hits including Donna, Rubber Bullets, Things We Do For Love, Dreadlock Holiday, and I'm Not In Love.

"We are very excited to have the chance to perform around New Zealand and to support a band from an era that knew how to write classic songs" said Pete on hearing they had secured the 10CC tour support.

Born in Huntly New Zealand, Pete spent his early years in Te Kuiti and overseas in Scotland, before moving back to NZ where he attended Mt Maunganui College, and learned to surf and play guitar.

In 1999 Pete won the TV3 show Get Your Act Together, and as a result his song Sugar was released by Sony Music and featured on the TV series Shortland St.

In the following years Pete formed a handful of bands, such as Waikato group Jah'na, and under various names released numerous singles and played support to acts such as Bic Runga, Zed, Fur Patrol, andShihad.

In 2005 Pete completed his debut album 'WILL' and over the past year has been busy recording the tracks at Big Note Productions for Indie label Nest Egg Records.

WILL was engineered and produced by Adrian Stuckey and Eddie Rayner (Split Enz).  The first single titled Just For Today will be released on the July NZ on Air Kiwi Hitdisk and the video will be released this week to coincide with the following tour dates, and if you happen to be in Hamilton, the video will be showing on a giant projected billboard hanging on the ASB building in Victoria St from 9pm-midnight every night from the 14-28th June.
