Vote Now for the Australasian Urban Music Awards

The Urban Music Awards (for Australia & New Zealand), organised by event management outfit Qi Media, is a newly-hatched celebration of urban music and its influence within Australia and New Zealand. Covering hip hop, R&B and soul, this show will be aimed at the public - the people buying the music and supporting the scene. It will be happening in Sydney on Friday July 21.
Categories comprise both Australian and New Zealand finalists, with the Kiwi contingent that you can vote for including Dei Hamo, Fast Crew, Savage, Frontline, Alphrisk, King Kapisi, Scribe & P-Money, Aaradhna, Deceptikonz, Ill Semantics, Smashproof and Adeaze.
All of the Urban Music Awards categories will be voted for by the public through the official website
www.urbanmusicawards.com.au. The ceremony itself will feature live acts from both sides of the Tasman, plus accompanying dance crews. New Zealand acts scheduled to perform are

Fast Crew,
Juse,
Mareko,
Savage and
Smashproof.
Legendary hip hop godfathers
Jazzy Jeff and
Kurtis Blow will also both be presenting and performing on the night to crowd of an estimated 3,500 people.
Date: Friday 21st July 2006 - 6pm black carpet arrivals, doors open 7pm, 7.30pm award show, 9pm - 11pm concert mode.
