Due Date For Pacific Music Awards Extended, and Other APRA News

APRA have informed us that all entries for the Pacific Music Awards now have until 5pm on Thursday March 9th to arrive.
The due date has also been extended for the APRA Best Country Song award, please head to the Gold Guitars website for an entry form. www.goldguitars.co.nz
Pat Pattison, internationally respected teacher of lyric-writing and liberal arts professor at Berklee College of Music, will be visiting New
Zealand in April 2006. Several of Pat's students have won Grammys, including John Mayer, Rob Hotchkiss (Train) and Gillian Welch.
APRA is proud to be hosting an exclusive evening with Pat Pattison for APRA members on Monday April 10th. Pat will be providing a introduction to the lyric writing seminars he is taking in Christchurch and Auckland later in the month. This event is free of charge and available to APRA members only. Pat will be teaching two New Zealand seminars on lyric writing:
- Christchurch - Friday 14 and Saturday 15 April (Easter weekend).
- Auckland - Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 April.

gini@ihug.co.nz APRA and the NZ Music Industry Commission will be showcasing original NZ music by Pacific artists on the APRA/NZMIC stage at the Pasifika Festival, from 10am to 5pm, this Saturday March 11 at Western Springs Park, Auckland. Their stage will be located by the Stadium Rd entrance to Western Springs park - come and enjoy the amazing music that will be performed!
Finally, APRA is hosting events for new members in Auckland in late March and in the first week of April for Dunedin members. If you recently got elected as an APRA member or received your first royalty payment look out for your invite this week.
