Sola Rosa News and Tour Dates

Following the Queen’s Birthday show at Leigh Sawmill, Sola Rosa gear up for dates in Australia in early July (the second Sola Rosa album, ‘Haunted Out-takes’ is released in Oz 18 June, 2004) before returning home for a series of shows nationwide.  Here's some news from Mr Sola Rosa himself, Andrew Spraggon...

"Hi all

First things first, a big thanks to all those involved in the Leigh Sawmill gig on the 6th of June; a wicked night indeed. With a sold out show on our hands it was an awesome night to welcome aboard our new bass player Matt Short, who alongside myself, Will Scott, Ned Ngatae, John Highsted and Manuel Bundy, made up a shit hot live band, if I may be so modest; definitely looking forward to future gigs with those fullas!

On the recording side of things we are currently working on a 7 track EP containing remixes by The Nextmen (UK), Submariner, Downtown Brown, SJD and Juse. We’re not exactly sure what Sola Rosa track will be on there, but it will contain vocals. Yes folks, the time has come to step out of the world of instrumentals and do what I’ve wanted to do for a long time, work with vocalists. So far onboard we have:

Tikiman – Based in Berlin, originally from the Caribbean, Tikiman has worked with artists such as Rhythm & Sound and Stereotyp.

Dallas Tamaira (aka Joe Dukie) – Dallas surely needs no introduction locally as front man for Fat Freddy’s Drop, as well as recording with Shapeshifter and the Del Ray System.

I cannot unfortunately give you any dates on any future release, but we are working at a steady pace, so watch this space!
