Nathan Haines To Play A Town Near You

Nathan Haines returns to New Zealand in July for a tour which will focus on the music that influenced his career - acoustic jazz.

For the first time, Nathan will tour with his bass-playing father Kevin and guitarist brother, Joel, playing music he grew up with and loved.

Joining them on-stage are top jazz pianist, Kevin Field, and ex-pat Canadian drummer, Ron Samsom, in a line-up that will capture the intimacy and complexity of improvised, acoustic music in a cabaret or theatre setting.

Based in London, much of his touring in recent years has taken Nathan into the club/dance environment. This time around, expect to hear vocal-led jazz with songs by both brothers, ballad numbers from Nathan’s two albums, as well as a few well-known jazz standards, reinterpreted for 2004.

And later this year the Haines’ will play a series of concerts with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, with a recording being released early in 2005.
