Aotearoa Hip Hop Summit This Weekend

4th October 2005

The Boost Mobile Aotearoa Hip-hop Summit 2005, a free public event showcasing and celebrating local Hip-hop culture in all its vibrant glory, is happening this weekend from Friday October 7. This is the fifth Summit at The Edge and will occur entirely in and around the Auckland Town Hall,The Edge.

This year's production is presented by The Edge Public programmes in partnership with Boost Mobile and Aotearoa's flagship "4-Element" Hip-hop company Disruptiv, in association with C4 Music Television, Redbull, Flava FM, and Base FM.

Over two style-filled days and nights, 2005's jam endeavours to be the most interactive and all-encompassing Summit thus far, including the sixth annual Disrupt The System graffiti jam, b-boy/b-girl battles, workshops, a panel discussion, trade show, and two free evening concerts showcasing the MC's and DJ's that are creating fire up and down the Land of the Long White spraypaint vapour Cloud.

Disruptiv, The Edge and their sponsors would like to acknowledge Alistair Toto, Phillip Bell and Jess Peters for their vision and drive in managing the Aotearoa Hip-hop Summit in previous years.
