New Zealand electro rappers Coco Solid have blown up in London town; playing an extra gig in the trendy East End, catching the eye of the press and distributing their album through Rough Trade Record stores.
Coco Solid has appealed to the British fashionistas, humorists and press. Their first gig sparking an invitation to play at the exclusive Bistrotheque in London’s trendy East End. Bistrotheque, is local to the likes of Alexander McQueen, is the high end of cool and now a big fan of the pair.
The success of their gigs has also impressed UK’s Rough Trade, Coco Solid’s second album, 'Denim & Leather' is now being stocked in stores across the country.
Press coverage of the flexible duo has also been favourable, with articles appearing in local magazines and weeklies.
They leave today for the second leg of their tour playing 4 shows in Germany. Their tour then continues in LA and San Fran till the end of September.
Auckland sound-clash fanatics, Coco Solid (Coco & Erik Ultimate) can only be likened to Peaches for their highly sexed raps and lo-fi beats. Their sound: a bossy 80’s electro rap, mixing a subversive attitude with their trademark wit.
