Windy City Winners

The recent Film Festival included the debut screenings of Costa Botes' documentary of Wellington institution band The Windy City Strugglers, and the making of their most recent (2004) album 'Kingfisher'. Botes introduced the film at each screening, speaking as honestly as his documentary film making style. Apparently at the start he had no real idea of the band or the music.

"When I began the process I thought I was making a film about losers frankly! But they bouyed me up, and the Strugglers' music is definitely worth it."
