Bieber nominated for black award

Canadian pop sensation and notably caucasian teenager Justin Bieber has scored a nomination for a 2010 Black Entertainment Television award. The BET Awards typically honor African-American singers, actors, actresses and athletes. Bieber, 16, who is in the running for the Best New Artist is up against prominent black performers including Jay-Z and Beyonce. Officials have described Bieber as a ‘cross-over artist’.
