P-Money: Big Things Instrumentals
By Andrew Hughes
Having achieved gold status with his debut album 'Big Things,' P-Money has released 'Instrumentals' on his own Kog Transmissions subsidiary label Dirty Records. This smart package is a double CD and a lot larger in content than it seems. Although we've heard the tracks on Disc 1 from 'Big Things' you get an extended version of Gamble and three bonus beats as well. This disc shows off Money's melodic sampling, heavy bass and all round behind-the-board brilliance. The second CD immediately grabs attention. It starts off with the New Shit section, which begins hard and fast sounding similar to Just Blaze's work before mellowing out with the Sunshine original mix. Remixes are provided by DJ Shan, Dubious Bros and Ali, giving the listener a good range in production styles. This album will be great for developing MCs and hardcore fans and overall a great addition to NZ's hip hop catalogue. With standout tracks God With the Flow, Sixteen and My Choice as well as being a double CD you can't go wrong.
