42unheard winner announced!

Auckland’s Ruby Frost aka Jane de Jong has been crowned the winner of the 42Unheard band competition. The 22-year-old songbird beat out five other NZ acts to take home the title and a prize package including a trip to New York to play at the CMJ Music Marathon; $5000 funding for music video; a single release deal and A&R support on Universal Records; recording time in a studio and professional production/mixing/mastering; a profile story in Real Groove Magazine; an LG KM900 Arena Phone for each band member; MTV media coverage and band profile (includes video play, radio play, interviews) and some 42BELOW Vodka. The grand final was held at the Transmission Room in Auckland on Friday 11 December and included performances from Tiddabades, For Da Grind, Rap Authoritar, The Pink Pound Experience and The Frisk.
