The Stars come out for a new project by Warwick Blair
1st May 2009
Get ready to journey through space and time with Stars
a new 24-hour multimedia work from composer Warwick Blair
. Stars is the result of Blair's collaboration with video artist and astronomer Paul Moss
, and Indian vocalist Arpita Chanda
. Stars will be performed at Galatos in Auckland, June 4 and 5, 2009 - the International Year of Astronomy. On top of that it's FREE!
Audience members are encouraged to come and go throughout the 24-hour performance period and experience different parts of the cycle. Paul Moss' video skyscapes will be projected onto six screens on the walls, ceiling and floor of Galatos, creating an ambient dream-like environment. Blair's recorded composition inspired by the concept of anoraniyan mahatomahiyan, will play continuously for 24 hours, and will be enhanced by live performances from Arpita Chanda who sings for a period every three hours.
