The Spirit of Song Project
This is a vehicle through which AJ (Diwata, Original ..Tommy.. band, Sonic Revelations) releases and performs his own song based music. His song 'Right There' was awarded a 'Hot Pic' prize in the 2005 Pacific Songwriting Competeition. The single, 'Aotearoa Aroha' features a video produced collaboratively this year. Filmed around Aotearoa, it was started at Parihaka 2006, and concluded there this year, when the finished video was shown on the main stage before Dave Dobbyn closed the Festival. The SOS Project differs from other bands in that it utilizes portable recording technology to connect musicians and collaborate on songs. It is all about simplicity, accessibility and authenticity.
