BUZZ BAHDUR: Horizontal Life

Originally from Bombay, India, guitarist/composer/producer Roy Venkataraman now lives in Auckland and is one of our most unique South Asian voices. Fluent in jazz, funk, hip hop, reggae, blues, downbeat and more, he has created a beautiful atmospheric album that will appeal to fans of local artists such as Rhian Sheehan, Module and Sola Rosa. His point of difference is his world music bent and the slightly psychedelic rock touch that permeates the album. Roy (aka Buzz) was at one point a guitarist in Bob Marley's Wailers band and has worked with local and international artists such as Chris Jones, Keith Benson and Brooke Fraser. Some world renowned jazz artists feature on this release - Adam Holzman, Rachael Z, Randy Brecker and Jay Rodriguez. Recorded here, in India and America, the album was also mixed by Buzz and Ivan Healy-Purvis. 'Horizontal Life' is a beautiful journey, an album that covers a vast sonic spectrum. Related Information
