Winds Of Change: Rosy Parsons
By Peter Dent
A sweet and touching album of heartland country from one of NZ's finest singer-songwriters of the genre. A top-notch band supports Rosy Parsons' compositions and brings her stories to life. Several songs feature lyrics about soldiers and war - made all the more poignant being reviewed by a currently serving soldier and on September 11! Other songs incorporate tales of loss, love, dedication and patriotism (yes, New Zealanders can be downright patriotic!). Along with Rosy's vocals are those by the Polyester Boys and her two harmony singers. The album was recorded at Sweetway Studios at Owaka Vally, South Otago and is a testament to the prowess of South Island country musicians. Well done to the producer, engineer and multi-instrumentalist, Ross McNabb, on a stunning effort.
