HELLBORNE: F**k you
By David Harris
The pointedly political cover of the album case hides seven studio tracks and two live tracks of brutal metal. These guys are very much against The Man and the energy of their passion reverberates through the entire album. Lyrically the message is clear, and you can hear the strength behind the vocals. Elements in their songs remind me of some other great Kiwi metal bands like D.I.C and Malevolance, which is no bad thing. Initially cringing at some bone-jarring cymbal sounds, I started off not wanting to listen to it, but after the first revolution found myself playing it over and over. With chunky chords, mean riffs and outlandish vocals, these individuals have found their sync. The music is tight with creative use of sampling on some songs. The two tracks recorded live stand out. A very good album and a must have for all NZ metallers.
