Various: Sione's Wedding Soundtrack
By Alistair Wickens
With the movie itself not yet released as I write this review, it's pretty hard to put the soundtrack of Sione's Wedding into context, although the soundtrack does make it easier to guess at the type of movie it will be. Dawn Raid produced the soundtrack, utilising many of their own stable of artists. And they've done a pretty good job for what seems to be their first attempt at a soundtrack. As befits any wedding, there are old tracks and new from artists such as Nesian Mystik (the mellow intro track Brothaz), Savage (the heavy Move, Make Way) and the classic '80s track For Today by Netherworld Dancing Toys. This is the only track that really doesn't feel as though it belongs, although I'm sure it will make perfect sense on seeing the movie. It's an easy listen, but one full of highlights from local talent, and if you can judge a movie by it's soundtrack then I'm looking forward to seeing this.
