Dawn of Azazel: Sedition
By Dave Gideon
The internationally active Dawn Of Azazel are obviously hard, fast, deathly and, in their own words, extreme metal. No subtlety, no compromise, just plain brutal and straight for the throat. There is much of what one would expect in the music from the violent and harsh vocals to Joseph Bonnett’s screaming banshee guitar riffs to Rigel Walshe’s thunderous bass and Martin Cavanagh’s rapid fire
drumming. With song titles like Spare None, Sin and Violence and Uncleanliness soaked in a fantasy of dark and diabolical lyrics delivered by Walshe this collection of demonic sounds makes it plain that these guys are masters of their own sound and have certainly done their time in the practice room. The album was recorded and mixed at Kog Transmission’s studios by David Holmes and mastered by Chris Chetland. The band have recently signed to an American label Ibex Moon to have this album released there.
