Concord Dawn: Uprising

By Ania Glowacz
Concord Dawn have conquered all. 50,000 records later (yes, really), they have succeeded in having a global impact in less than three albums, topping it off with this one. Containing all the dancefloor fillers they’ve been playing out for months in clubs worldwide, it is a 'must-have’ for all drum’n’bass fans. CD have gone from being derided for not 'paying their dues’ by the local d’n’b fraternity (boys club), to quickly earning the respect of the many that matter - the fans and other DJs, the main players on the world stage. Not least of which is regular visitor Digital, highly regarded UK producer and head scout for the Timeless label. CD’s passion for drum’n’bass and experience in other genres of music has resulted in their perfect execution of a wide variety of d’n’b styles showcased on this album. They’ve studied the wide palate of sounds and squeezed out something even bigger than the sum of its parts. They stand tall among their contemporaries. They’ve ventured further than most, and all from a Kiwi perspective that is refreshing, sonically rich plus killer on the dance floor. This is Concord Dawn’s best album by far. Guest appearances by Scribe, Tiki Taane (Salmonella Dub) and Optive (UK) seal the deal. Big ups! Get this album now or get out of the way.
