Die! Die! Die!: Die! Die! Die!

In a city where crowds sit back and watch bands with apathy aplomb, Die!Die!Die! stand out as one of the few that get an Auckland audience moving. Here, famed producer Steve Albini captures the essence of Die!Die!Die! live, allowing them to sound like the noisy, brittle, scratchy and utterly engaging band they are in the flesh. Check out the distorted bass and breakneck drums on the standout closer Out of the Blue or the tinny echo on Andrew Wilson's vocals on Shyness Will Get You Nowhere to hear Albini capturing a band in its raw glory. The songs here aren't as 'nice' sounding as they were on their previous untitled EP, and it suits. These are simple songs built around a rock-solid rhythm section. Move Die!Die!Die! to the top of the pile in our country's stock of rock bands.Related Information
