Tourettes: The Misadventures Of Johnny Favourite

By Andrew Hughes
The first solo release from the Breakin Wreckwords camp proves to be a stunner in many ways. Firstly, Tourettes puts a wealth of insightful content into his music, resulting in a powerfully graphic story of love, drug use, fictitious happenings and job dissatisfaction. Additionally, the album boasts a high standard of beatmaking, supplementary to his deep, well thought lyrics. Basically you gots to feel 'dis! Mastered by Chris Chetland and mixed by Dan Mawby who also helped with recording along with Zone 1, Cyphanetik and Matt Short. The CD plays out like a sick and twisted fairy tale, with joints like Crocodile, Immoral Work Ethic and the single Lovable Losers, but becomes serious and personal on Suck My Dick, Never Go Home and Homesickness. This album may come across as experimental, but shines in the brilliance of creativity.
