Quiver: A Part

Quiver is Tim Mitchell and Philip Solaris. Friends since high school days at Takapuna Grammar, the duo are back with this brand new recording from Madscientist studio after a number of years leading separate lives. The gentlemen are certainly being true to themselves: the music is a genuine extension of their personalities and musical identities. Mitchell and Solaris wrote, produced, recorded and mixed the album themselves, with a minimum of outside assistance. Lucid 3 drummer and engineer Derek Metivier added his groove to some tracks and also mastered the album. Solaris’ wife Sarah added some vocals, and Brad Carde chimed in with some soulful didgeridoo! Quite a dark, earthy album ensues, with the performances creating a unique atmosphere and musical melancholy. Not for everyone, but those who get it will likely treasure this album for years to come. www.quiver.info
