SWEET VITRIOL: Sweet Vitriol

Langley Gerrard and Shane Woolridge make up the beautiful intelligence of Sweet Vitriol. Woolridge sings a kinder vibrato than Elvis Costello, a smooth and sexier breath awareness than Maynard James Keenan, the honesty of Ron Sexsmith with an ability to be himself. I'm besotted with Woolridge's voice and songs. Each melody is memorable and easy on the voice. Each story has it's own value of life experience. I keep playing Hollowed and Vivastar12 with alternative consistency. Gerrard and Woolridge share guitar and vocal conversations on this, another fine recording at the hands of Ross McNab in his Otago Sweetway Studios. 12 tracks of very well crafted sounds with appearances from McNab as multi-instrumentalist, and performances from other musicians make a wonderful atmosphere.
