Lucid 3: All Moments Leading To This

Lucid 3 give a fantastic recording performance on their second album. The band's drummer and engineer Derek Metivier has marvelously captured Victoria Girling-Butcher's vocal intimacy and a rawness of the band. This is a live and personal sound. Girling-Butcher has good conviction of voice and I believe every word she shares. Lending us her own compositions, Girling-Butcher has a good understanding of the effectiveness of her poetry and of the surrounding sounds which she breathes easily beside. From more powerful full-on band sounds like the catchy West and AM Radio, to the almost private, title track, I find this album growing on me daily. I hope Marcus Lawson, (bass, guitars and more), Metivier and Girling-Butcher (guitars, keys), are feeling very good about this fine piece of expression, a fantastic promise of things to come.
