Magnify: In Wonder

Wellington-based band Magnify's debut album is a breath of fresh air. 'In Wonder' is certainly not one of your sugar coated, plastic Jesus albums that has made up the bulk of Christian music for so long. While Magnify's music is obviously influenced by the perennial favourites - U2, Creed and Delirious, they have managed to create a driving guitar based rock blend without compromising their message or the music. Birthed in 2003 at Wellington Elim, the group (Ric Knott - guitar/vocals, Marissa Knott - keys/vocals, Andy Hamilton - guitar, Iopu Va'asili - bass and Tai Fuimaono - drums) featured at the 2004 Parachute Festival and no doubt picked up some fans among the 23,000 strong crowd. Produced by Ric Knott and Jono Scarlet the album contains 10 original tracks, any of which could well become strong favourites at youth services around the country.
