Steriogram: Schmack
By Mikhal Norris
Steriogram are blowing up all over the place, America loves them, Japan loves them and after hearing their debut, so do I! Here Steriogram have come out on top with a great sound and an incredible album. Steriogram have done the near impossible and fused together hip hop, power rock and some great melodies. My favourites are the ridiculously catchy singles Walkie Talkie Man and White Trash, which are both backed up by impressive music videos (try $500,000 for WTM!) and have had an incredible amount of radio play locally. And if hit singles, clever videos and a manic live performance weren't enough for you, 'Schmack' was laid down in a Los Angeles studio with producer extraordinaire David Kahne (Paul McCartney and Sugar Ray). There is also the fact that their album cover is a knitted guitar with New Zealand sown on in capital letters; sure to make every patriotic Kiwi's heart melt. Steriogram's debut album 'Schmack' is a hit and there are 12 tracks here to prove it!
