Donna Dean: Money

Donna Dean is a country singer/songwriter from Auckland. She has been living and working in Europe since the late '90s, where she is exceedingly popular. Having toured extensively (supports including Willie Nelson!), Dean recorded two albums with the Amazing Rhythm Aces. This recording also features 'the Aces', and was recorded in Nashville, Auckland and Kent in the UK. All 19 tracks were written or co-written by Dean and enjoy polished production. There is nothing in the sound of this album to indicate that she isn't an American country star. Born Donna Kouka, Ms Dean comes from a musical family and was making up songs before she could write her name. She has worked solo extensively solo, but was also a member of '90s cover band Rio Grande. Words of encouragement from Amazing Rhythm Aces' singer Russell Smith gave Dean the incentive to take her music to the world, and we're glad she did!
